Gilbert Hulse Acree, 89, of Shiloh Road in Campbellsville died Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2001 at Taylor County Hospital in Campbellsville, after an illness. Son of the late Jack and Ella Garrison Acree of Green County, Ky., he was a member of Jesus Name Full Gospel Tabernacle. Acree was a retired farmer and a painter and had served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was married to Nettie Mae Acree, who preceded him in death in 1990. Survivors include one son and three daughters, Wayne Acree, Carolyn Boils and Sandra Parrott, all of Campbellsville, and Rebecca Taylor of Indiana; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one sister, Clara McMahan of Indiana. He was also preceded in death by one brother and one sister, Austin Acree and Mollie Finn. Funeral was at 11 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 6 at Lyon-DeWitt Funeral Home in Campbellsville with burial in Jesus Name Full Gospel Cemetery. Bro. Raymond Clark officiated. Pallbearers were Dale Boils, Timmy Acree, Gene Atwood, Robert Coomer, Bill Henderson and Harland Wright.
