Lifelong Alaskan Anna Augusta Gottschalk, 89, died Jan. 14, 1996, at the Anchorage Pioneer Home of natural causes.
A visitation is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. today until Wednesday morning at St. Anna's Orthodox Church in Naknek. A funeral is scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday at St. Anna's Orthodox Church. The Rev. Gerasim Varix will officiate. Burial will be in the Bristol Bay Borough Cemetery.
Mrs. Gottschalk was born Feb. 28, 1906, in Ugashik.
She was a member of the Russian Orthodox Church.
Her family said that throughout her life, ''she was a caring person, not only for family, but for friends and acquaintances, too. She had an equal caring and respect for all.''
Mrs. Gottschalk is survived by her daughters, Thelma Eckert of Naknek, Bertha Williams of King Salmon, Viola White and Lorrane Beilieu of Portland, Ore., and Irene Hendricks of Seattle; her sons, Carl, Walter and Earl Aspelund of Seattle, and Alvin and Allan Aspelund of Naknek; her sisters, Nina Harris and Mary Zimin of Anchorage; 29 grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren, as well as seven nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Max.
