DIGHTON — Everett S. Adams, 88, died Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2012, at Locust Grove Village in LaCrosse.

He was born May 2, 1924, in Ada, to George S. and Ellie Saunders Adams.

On June 2, 1946, he married Julia Marie Martin in Dighton. She died Feb. 2, 2007. He also was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Stanley and Mahlon Adams.

A resident of Lane County since 1946, Mr. Adams worked as an elevator operator and manager for Farmers Co-op Elevator for 40 years. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Survivors include a son, Duane Adams of Russell; three daughters, Mary Conrad of Leon, Mona Klaus of Schoenchen, and Rita Gossett of Granby, Texas; a brother, Ray Adams of Chester, Calif.; five grandchildren; and a great-grandson.

Funeral will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday at First Christian Church in Dighton. Military graveside service will be at Dighton Memorial Cemetery.

Visitation hours are 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. today at Boomhower Funeral Home in Dighton. Memorials are suggested to First Christian Church, J.O.Y. Center or Diamond View Assisted Living, all in care of the funeral home, 145 N. Wichita, Dighton, KS 67839
