Funeral Services Held At Bruno May 11 For Miss Cecelia Abraham
Funeral services for Miss Cecelia Abraham, 79, of Valley City, N.D., were conducted Monday, May 11, at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Bruno, with Father Anthony Trauch officiating. Miss Abraham died Thursday, May 7, at Mercy Hospital in Valley City following a short illness.
Pallbearers were Glen and Ernest Bongers, Alex Kozisek, John Hein, Milton Speicher and Richard Lux. Burial was in St. Anthony’s Cemetery at Bruno.
Relatives from out-of-town attending the services were from Schuyler, Lincoln, Columbus, Brainard and David City, and Verona, Valley City and La Moure, N.D.
Miss Abraham, daughter of Anton and Cecelia (Maca) Abraham, was born Oct. 18, 1890, on a farm near Bruno. She attended District 54 school. She lived at Bruno until 1929 when she moved to Verona, N.D., to live with a sister, Mrs. Frank Barta. After the death of Mrs. Barta, she lived with a niece, Mrs. Francis Lux of Verona, and later at Valley City, N.D.
She was a member of the Catholic Church.
Survivors include nine nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Joseph and Peter Abraham; two sisters, Mrs. Frank (Frances) Barta and Mrs. Jacob (Barbara) Bongers; and one niece and one nephew.
