Jane Skaggs Abell, 86, of Buffalo, passed away Oct. 26, 2012, in Hodgenville.
Jane was a lifelong member of Mt. Tabor Baptist Church where she served as Sunday school secretary for many years. She clerked for Atherton's Sales Service and worked in retail at Hodgenville Dry Goods, McCaleb's and Ray's. She was a cancer survivor of 32 years and participated in Relay for Life.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rhea Hill Abell, and her parents, Walter and Cora Howell Skaggs.
She is survived by one daughter, Betsy Tucker; two grandsons, Glenn (Vickki) Tucker and Mark (Shelly) Tucker; four great-grandchildren, Ben, Sam, Ella and Emma; one sister, Alene DeSpain; one brother, Ernest Brown Skaggs; one aunt, Cynthia Carter and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins; and a caregiver, Megan Glass.
The funeral is at 1 p.m., Monday, Oct. 29, at Rust-Wright Funeral Home with the Revs. Carlis Compton and Barry Fields officiating. Burial follows in Mt. Tabor Cemetery.
Visitation is from 3 to 8 p.m. today, Oct. 28, at Rust-Wright Funeral Home at 612 N. Lincoln Blvd. in Hodgenville and continues Monday from 9 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home.
Expressions of sympathy can be made to Mt. Tabor Church Christian Life Center or Mt. Tabor Church Cemetery.
