Hastings - Funeral services for Mrs. John B. (Emma S.) Davis (1872-1949), who passed away Tuesday night at the home of her daughter, Mrs. A. L. Maltby here, were held Thursday afternoon at the Davis Chapel in Palatka, with Rev. W. C. McGarrity, of the local Methodist Church, officiating. Burial was in the family plot in West View Cemetery.
Mrs. Davis was born in Hampton, and had spent the greater part of her life here and in Palatka.
Survivors include four other daughters, Mrs. C. D. Knight, Green Cove Springs; Mrs. L. H. George, Miami; Mrs. Mercer G. Davis, Green Cove Springs, and Mrs. W. D. Clifton, Jacksonville; one son, S. J. Davis, and a sister, Mrs. Lulu Equott, Jacksonville. (Palatka Times-Herald Obituary dtd Friday, 11 Mar 1949.)
