John Benjamin Davis (1859-1932), 73, a former preacher in the Methodist Conference, died Tuesday morning after a lingering sickness The deceased was born in Palatka.
Mr. Davis, until thirty years ago, was a preacher. Even though he left the conference he was always interested in preaching.
Funeral services were held from his home at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday with Rev. L. D. Lowe officiating.
Mrs. H. B. Mullis of Palatka, Mrs. Isola Clifton and Samuel J. Davis, of Jacksonville are the children who survive him by his first marriage. Mrs. C. D. Knight of Green Cove Springs; Mrs. Ruby Maltby of Hastings; Mrs. Dema Baker, Mr. John Smith, and Miss Sara Davis, all of Palatka, are the children surviving from the second marriage.
