"Josie" was the daughter of Thomas Jefferson Sketo & Paulina Huffer.

She married John Louis Sprinkle on 11 Jul 1905 in Perry Co., IN.

They had ten children: Lillie Pearl (Neely); Floyd Earl; Lloyd Murl; Evelyn Mae (Highsmith); Dorothy Della (Cox); Ethel Maxine (Banks); Robert Lee; Arthur Ray; Paul Everett; & Betty Jo (Brines).

Note that according to the "The Sprinkle Family in Perry Co., IN," written by Josie's son, daughter-in-law and granddaughter, Josie was born 16 Jul 1887. The 1900 census shows Jul 1886. Josie's Social Security application also shows 1886.

Josie and John Louis Sprinkle were married 11 July 1905 in Perry Co., IN. They had ten children and moved to Illinois between 1911 and 1914.

Josie was a daughter of Thomas Jefferson Sketo and his third wife Pauline Huffer Armes married 8/18/1882 in Waco, Daviess Co., IN (the third marriage for each). John T Green married Pauline Huffer 5/5/1876 Daviess Co., IN. Pauline Green married Edward Arms on 7/18/1880 Daviess Co., IN. Pauline gave incorrect information when a tombstone was created after the fact for TJ Sketo in Beard Cem., IN. According to the 1900 census he was born Dec. 1825 in KY and both parents born in NC. His death certificate lists his date of death as 1/17/1905 Uniontown, Perry Co., IN. John Sketo is listed as his father on the Indiana death certificate. The informant on his death certificate was Josie Sketo of Lasher, IN.
TJ died of TB. Family lore states that when parents of TJ died, he was raised by an older sister who died in a house fire.

TJ was married three times and had 18 children. Thomas Skittoe married Polly Ann Brock on 27 Feb. 1844 in Perry Co, IN. PollyAnn died about 1863/4 while TJ was in the Civil War - 49th Reg IND Vol. Inf Co. E (private with a pension)

As a note, if TJ was the son of John Sketoe, son of Wm Sketoe and Jane Odom, naming pattterns give his first two children the names of TJ's grandparents Wm and Jane. Ancestry DNA links descendants of TJ to descendants of Nancy Sketoe (Mrs. Aaron Lott of Muhl. Co., KY) who was a daughter of Wm Sketoe and Jane Odom of Muhl Co., KY. Wm Sketoe was in the Rev War out of NC. Jane Odom also born NC.

2. Margaret Jane Sketoe born 1848. Married Daniel BooneJackson (born 1848) 1880 census Perry Co., IN. He died 1925 in MO and must have remarried about 1882 to Luella Smith and had 6 children. Margaret had a daughter named Emma Josephine.
3. John Thomas Sketo 1856-1893. Died of TB.. Two children
4. Delilah Anna Sketo 1859-1912 SD. Married Charles W Albin 1875 IN. 10 children.
5. James Sketo died between 1861 and 1863 during the war of brain fever.
6. George Washington Sketo born 10/14/1861 seven days before TJ enlisted in the war. George's mother died prior to the end of the war and is buried in Beard Cem., IN. George died 1930 Lodiburg, KY. Two children.

Jefferson Sketo married second on 2 Mar. 1865 in Perry Co., IN to Louisiana Hensley. TJ was mustered out of the war on 1/13/1865 in Indianapolis. Louisann left her family. When Charles located his birth mother, she lived with him until her death (They resided in Henderson Co., KY where she died). She had two husbands (One was a Brock - they did not marry). She tried to get TJ's pension and the govt had to decide if she was entitled or his current wife, as she left and had been remarried. This is in TJ's pension and I believe she was not succesfull.

The name Wesley is not on the census in 1870 and 1880 with his parents. Tombstone list birth as 2 Sep. 1862. Wessly Sketo married on 16 Apr. 1894 in Perry Co. to Katie Quiggins. Wesley and Abraham are one in the same. Wesley has wrong birth dates on his records-1872 is more correct.
2. Amanda E. Sketo born 1867. Married Henry Smith. Lived in Birdseye, IN. 8 children.
3. Mary Emiline (Catherine) Sketo born 1869. AKA sister Mary Ida Sketo. Entered Convent of Immaculate Conception at Ferdinand, IN age 16 on 4/20/1884.
4. Abraham Wesley Sketo born 1872. Married short time. No children. One in the same as Wesley. Wesley was not born in 1862 as his stone records.
5. Ida Ellen Sketo born 1874. Married in 1881 to Benj. Franklin Albin, brother to Delilah's husband Charles. Eleven children.
6. Samuel Sketo born 1876. Never married. Died as young adult.
7. Charles J. Sketo 1878-1923. Reared in German speaking foster home. Lived near Dayton OH. Married, no children.
