DAVENPORT -- Darla Jean Dandridge, of Davenport, passed away at 5:12 p.m. Saturday, July 12, 2003, after a brave six month battle with brain cancer at the home of her sister, Julie Kiernan. With her at her passing were her sister Julie K. and Bonnie Abbott, her children Chad Dandridge and Eli and Hannah Brown; her niece Andrea Castillo, Leah Masterson. Also present were 11 other nieces and nephews and seven grand-nieces and nephews and many friends. Her interests were making jewelry and selling it at the farmers market, camping, the Blues Fest and family and friends. Darla was preceded in death by her mother, Elsie Dandridge; Charles Maring, her father, and her sister, Cathy Wendland. A private graveside service is planned. Please send any tokens of sympathy of memorials to her children at 3127 Sunnyside Ave., Davenport, IA 52801. Her family would like to express their thanks to the VNA Hospice for their constant support and empathy through this terrible ordeal. Her family plans a gathering to celebrate her life at her favorite park, Credit Island, at noon July 19, 2003. All her friends are cordially invited. Cunnick-Collins Mortuary and Cremation Service, Davenport, is in charge of arrangements.
