Carrie had become a member of the Apostolic Christian Church while a young girl at Morton and attended faithfully at Sabetha as long as her health permitted.
She worked as a housekeeper for various families in the Sabetha area including the Art Collins family, Joe Bockenstette family, Dr. and Mrs. Sam Murdock, and then for A. F. Roberts until she was no longer able. She then lived with her brother, George, and helped in his home. Over the course of years since 1906 when the family moved to Sabetha, Carrie worked for others in their homes from 1921 until the mid 1960's. She enjoyed hard work and became well known for her efficient ability to take care of a household.
Carrie had been a resident of the Apostolic Christian Nursing Home since June 10, 1979. She died there July 24, 1981.
Surviving are three sisters, Tillie and Louise Aberle and Susie Brunner, all of Sabetha; a brother, George Aberle, of Sabetha; many nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were infant children, brothers and sisters, John at the age of 4, Anna at the age of 4, Mary at the age of 16, and Will at the age of 22.
Services were held July 27, 1981, at the Sabetha Apostolic Christian Church with the ministers of the church officiating. The church choir sang selected hymns. Casketbearers were Eldon Aberle, Gary Aberle, Robert Aberle, Todd Oldridge, Walter Strahm and Henry Plattner. Memorial gifts were made to the Apostolic Christian Nursing Home and sent in care of Popkess Mortuary, Box 241, Sabetha.
