Marie Aaron, 99, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 7, 2013, at Lakeview Christian Home of the Southwest.
Frances Marie Walden Aaron was born to Luther Lee and Pearl (Allred) Walden on April 2, 1914, in Quanah, Texas, and was raised in Lamb City, Texas.
Arthur Glen and F. Marie Aaron were married in Clovis, N.M., in 1930. They made Carlsbad their permanent home in 1961.
Marie worked for many years as a deli clerk at both Tootie's Cashway and Furr's Grocery stores.
She was a long-time member of Fox and Lake Church of Christ, where she volunteered in the food ministry for many years.
She is preceded in death by her husband; daughter, Glenda Helen Potter; five brothers; two sisters; three grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Marie is survived by sons: A. Alton Aaron and Stan Aaron, both of Carlsbad, and Jack Aaron of Georgetown, Texas; and daughter, Nancy M. Gardner of Carlsbad; 14 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
