Ann Aaberg, age 82, of Brookings, SD formerly of Toronto, SD died Sunday, August 25 in the White Care Center, White, SD. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, August 29, 2013 in the Leganger Lutheran Church, Toronto. Burial will be in the Toronto Cemetery, Toronto. Visitation will be 5 – 7 p.m. Wednesday, August 28th in the Houseman Funeral Home in Toronto, SD.

Ann L. Aaberg was born August 13, 1931 to Edwin and Ruth (Erickson) Moe in Hendricks, MN. She was raised near Astoria, SD where she graduated from Astoria High School in 1949.

Ann was united in marriage to Lyle Aaberg on July 29, 1951 in Hendricks, MN. Following their marriage, they lived in Astoria where Ann worked in various stores until they moved to Toronto in 1959. She then worked out of the home selling greeting cards and Amway. In 2006, they moved to Brookings, SD and then in April of 2010 Ann moved to the White Care Center in White, SD. Ann passed away on Sunday, August 25, 2013 in the White Care Center at the age of 82 years and 12 days.

She was a member of Leganger Lutheran Church in Toronto. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Toronto for 60 years. Ann had a love for music, played piano, sang and played the drums; playing with the "old and reckless". Ann enjoyed playing bingo and cards and also collected porcelain dolls. She had a special talent for writing poetry and has written over 200 poems. She loved people and got along with everyone and enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is lovingly remembered by her husband Lyle Aaberg, two daughters: Darlis (friend Rick Nase) Aaberg and Danelle (friend Dan Mittan) Goens, all of Brookings, SD; 7 grandchildren: Chad Aaberg, Allen Aaberg, Karmen (Trevor Grenz) Kracke, Lisa (Chad Giese) Kracke, Nicole (Ross) Cochran, Michelle (Brian Livermore) Kracke and Dennis (Telia Sherman) Chapin; 12 great-grandchildren; one brother, Carroll (Dianne) Moe, Watertown, SD; one sister-in-law, Janet Moe, Brookings, SD and many nieces and nephews.

Ann was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Dennis Aaberg; one brother, Elroy Moe and three sisters: Merrill Peterson, Oriette Lenander and Elaine Elmore.
