KERRVILLE — Services for Fred Vanarsdale, 67, of Kerrville, who died Friday in a local hospital, will be at 2 p.m. today in Kerrville Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Wes Weston officiating. Burial was to follow in Garden of Memories. Born Oct. 30, 1922, in Greensburg, Ken., Mr. Vanarsdale was retired from the U.S. Army and worked at Furman's Nursery. He also was a guard at the Kerrville State Hospital and was a Baptist. He married Melissa Hardy Sept. 2, 1962, in Fort Steilacoom, Wash. She survives. Other survivors include two daughters, Evelyn Stewart of Kerrville and Ruth Laguna of Kirby- ville; two stepdaughters, Janet Ottmers of Kerrville and Armatha Hansen of San Angelo; a sister, Bonnie Abbott of Louisville, Ken.; a brother, Ned Vanarsdale of Washington, D.C.; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Kerrville Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
