Funeral services for Mrs. Christine Adams, age 83, of Columbia will be held at 10:00AM Friday, August 5, 2005 from the Columbia Chapel of Riser Funeral Home with Rev. Harrell Tucker officiating. Interment will follow in the Adams family plot in Columbia Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Adams, a homemaker, died August 2, 2005 at her daughter's residence in Kentwood following a brief illness. Christine Adams was born on March 4, 1922.
She was preceded in death by her husband Rufus Adams, her grandchildren Celinda Bradley and Justin Talbert, and her great grandchildren Julianna King and John Adams.
Left to mourn her passing are three sons: Pearl Adams and Hassell Craft both of Columbia and John Adams of Mooresville, Indiana; four daughters: Ruby Calvert, of Baton Rouge, Shirley Brunson, Columbia, Jacqui Chatham, Kissimme, FL and Ponzella Stapleton of Grayson; one brother: Dave Ingle of Baton Rouge and Lottie Ingle of Hazzard, KY; fourteen grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren.
Serving as pallbearers will be Jack Jordan, Wesley Jordan, Keith Gilmore, David Stapleton, Jimmy Stapleton, and Wayne Perot.
The family will receive visitors on Thursday from 2:00PM until 9:00PM at the Riser Funeral Home, 7131 Hwy 165, Columbia, LA.
