Abbott- At the home of her son, F.T. Abbott, in Colfax, Saturday, February 20, 1904, Mrs. Frances L. Abbott, aged 80 years. Her death was very sudden and unexpected, as her illness was not considered serious and she appeared bright and cheerful only a few moments before her death.
Her son, F.T. Abbott, was in Farmington attending the Knights of Pythias convention at the time and the shock to him was very great. Two sons, Frank T. and Charles survive her.
The body was shipped to Manchester, Iowa, where interment was made beside her husband, who died several years ago. Her two sons accompanied the remains.
