Robert William "Bob" Riodgeway, Sr. of Vian was born May 8, 1923, in Mexico, MO, to George Gordon and Elizabeth Taft Ridgeway and went home to Heaven Feb. 24, 2014 in Gore, OK. Bob was a World War II veteran serving in the Navy for 6 years i both the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans. He had lived in Vian since 1959, when he and his family moved there from Norman, and always supported the school and community where most of his family still lives. Bro. Bob served the Lord at Blackgum First Baptist Church where he was ordained as a deacon shortly after moving to eastern Oklahoma, and where his son in law is pastor. He also loved walking across the street and attending Vian Baptist Church where he had many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Irma who he married in 1948 and enjoyed 62 years of marriage; brother, George G. Ridgeway, Jr., and three sisters, Nancy Ridgeway, Sue Roussell, Dorothy Abernathy; and his son in law, John Casteel.
