Virginia Susan, known as Sue to family & friends, was the second of George Gordon & Elizabeth Jewell (Taft) Ridgeway's four children. Her siblings were George Gordon, Jr., Robert W., & Dorothy B.
In the spring of 1930 Sue was living with her family in Clovis, NM.
She and Hershal "Kenneth" Roussel were united in marriage by Judge Homer M. Graff in Perryville, Perry Co, MO on September 11, 1938. Their marriage license, which they obtained in Cape Girardeau Co, MO, showed that she was a resident of Farber, Audrain Co, MO, and he was a resident of Fruitland, Cape Girardeau Co, MO.
Her obituary provides a brief glimpse into her life. The month & day of their marriage is incorrect.

Virginia Sue Roussel, 80, of Cape Girardeau died Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2001, at her home.
She was born Jan. 15, 1921, in Mexico, Mo., daughter of George G. and Elizabeth Taft Ridgeway. She and Hershel Kenneth Roussel were married Sept. 22, 1938, at Farber, Mo. He died May 3, 1993.
Roussel had worked at Lowenbaum Dress Factory in Cape Girardeau. She was a member of First Church of the Nazarene in Jackson, Ga.
Survivors include three sons, Jim and Bill Roussel of Cape Girardeau, Steve Roussel of Brentwood, Tenn.; a brother, Bob Ridgeway of Vian, Okla.; a sister, Kate Stathem of Farber; 10 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Funeral Home from 4-8 p.m. today, and at Halsten Funeral Home in Jackson, Ga., after 11 a.m. Saturday. Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Halsten Funeral Home. Burial will be in Juliette United Methodist Cemetery in Juliette, Ga."
