ALLEN AARDSMA

Allen Aardsma, 66, died suddenly Sunday at his home at 283 North Fourth Street, Lindenhurst. His wife was the former Clara J Verbeke of West Sayville who died August 12th. Mr Aardsma was born in Chicago and had made his home in Lindenhurst for about 25 years. He operated a barber shop until his retirement several years ago.

He leaves four daughters and four sons, three of them clergymen. There are Mrs Arthur G Johnson and Mrs Robert Drewry, both of Florida, Mrs George Kircher of Brazil, and Mrs David Denny of Albany; the Rev Walter Aardsma of Greenport, the Rev Jacob Aardsma of Gonic NH, the Rev Paul Aardsma of Lansing Mich, and Philip Aardsma of Lindenhurst. A sister, Mrs Alice Hockstra of Cincinnati O and 15 grandchildren, also survive.

Services were conducted last evening by the Rev Harry Hobart, pastor of the First Baptist Church in Massapequa, at the Overton Funeral Home, Islip. Interment will be in Union Cemetery, Sayville this morning at 10 o’clock.
