Paul William Aardsma, 91, peacefully entered the presence of his Lord on April 29, 2017, at his home in Everett, Washington, with family members present.

He was born December 28, 1925, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, to Allen and Clara Aardsma.

Paul and Doris were married on August 16, 1952.

He earned his Masters in Sociology from MSU and went on to serve in multiple areas. He was the Pastor at Faith Baptist Church in Lansing MI, and served as Interim Pastor at various churches in Michigan, Maryland and Iowa. He was an active member of all the churches he attended, most recently Emmanuel Baptist Church in Des Moines, IA. Paul also worked for the Iowa Department of Elder Affairs and was recognized for his efforts to establish the Older Iowans Legislature. He was active in Iowa Republican politics and served as Chairman of the Warren County Republican Party. He enjoyed gardening and telling jokes. He loved entertaining children, especially his great-grandchildren. Paul was devoted to his God, his family, and his country.

Paul was preceded in death by his infant son Richard Paul and daughter Lois. Also by two brothers, Walter and J. Allen, and a sister, Dorothy Kircher. Paul is survived by his wife, Doris Gerrard Aardsma; sons, Carl Aardsma and wife Alleen of Everett, Washington; and Doug Aardsma of Orangevale, California; 4 grandchildren and their spouses; and 8 great-grandchildren and one spouse; and also one brother, Phil, and three sisters, Mary Johnson, Clara Drewry and Ruth Denny.

Services were held at the Chapel of the Resurrection in Bothell, Washington on Monday, May 15th with interment in the mausoleum.
