Gordon B. Hartvikson was born on September 27, 1918 at Wolford, ND, to Hartvik and Inga Hartvikson. Army during World War II where he served in the European Theatre for fifteen months. On November 29, 1943 he married Agnes Aarestad at Little Rock, AR. The years 1946 to 1974 were spent dairy farming near Jamestown, ND, and Perham, MN. From 1971 to 1988 he worked at Veterans Hospital, until his retirement.
He is survived by his wife, Agnes, Fargo; son Ronald (Nancy) Hartvikson, Thompson, ND; 3 daughters, Linda (Jim) Sorenson, DeQueen, AR, Roberta (Lyle) Overby, Jamestown, ND, and Ann (Rick) Overby, West Fargo, ND; 14 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two brothers, Arthur (Lorraine) Hartvikson, Sardis,B.C., and Hjalmer Hartvikson, Bottineau, ND; one sister, Rubelle (Howard) Tefre, Plentywood, MT; and a sister-in-law, Eileen Hartvikson, Seattle, WA.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Donald, Seattle, WA; two sisters, Adelaide (Elmer) Braasch, Minot, ND, and Helen (Stan) Aarestad, Watertown, SD.
He is remembered by a host of friends.
