EDWARD POLK

Edward Franklin Polk, 86, of 17 Barry Street, died Thursday morning at LaGrange
Nursing Center after an illness of several months.

A retired employee of the Dunson Division, West Point Pepperell Mfg, he had lived
here in LaGrange for the past 70 years. He was born in Covington and was a member
of the Friendship Baptist Church,

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 4pm at the Friendship Baptist Church conducting
by Rev. Jessie L. Thompson and Rev. Floyd Carmack. Burial will be in the Shadowlawn
Cemetery.

He is survived by
4 daughters--Mrs. Leon Brooks, Mrs. O.L. Underwood, Mrs. W.O. Abbott--LaGrange & Mrs. G.A. Kelley of Pensacola, Fla
3 sons--Johnny Frank and James Polk of LaGrange & Walter Polk of Jonesboro
1 sister--Mrs. Effie Phillips of LaGrange
1 brother--Claude Polk of Covington

The body will be at the Hunter Allen Myhand Funeral Home until Saturday afternoon and will lie-in-state at the
