FOREST-Services for Hilbur L. Sorey, 85, who died Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2007, at his residence in Forest, were held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 3, 2007, at Ott & Lee Funeral Home with burial in the Carr Methodist Cemetery. Pastors Audrey Adkins and Terry Roberts officiated.

Mr. Sorey was a native and a lifelong resident of Pineville. He was a member of Pineville Methodist Protestant Church. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II and a member of the VFW in Pineville.

He was preceded in death by his twin brother, Wilbur Sorey; brother, J.D. Sorey; three sisters, Myrtis Ritchie, Gladys Abernanthy and Zora Sanders.

Survivors include his sister, Maudie Hull of Laurel; and a number of great and great-great nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Jason Shaw, Scotty Watts, Rodney Watts, Stevie Hammons, Kevin Hammons and Chad Hammons. Honorary pallbearers were Bobby Abernathy, Carl Hull, Johnny Hull, Buddy Hull, Ronnie Hull, Mack Wiggins, Pat Westbrooks and Timothy Presley.
