Death of James Abbett. [sic-Abbott]
James Abbett, one of the oldest residents of Franklin, died last Saturday night, age 75 years. Deceased was at one time a leading business man of Franklin, the owner of a large tract of land besides other valuable property. Unfortunate business transactions caused him to lose his property. In recent years he has been agent for the Capital Laundry, and by this means earned a living. He was honest in all his dealings, and in every respect a most upright citizen. A wife and two children survive him.
Mr. Abbett carried a $250 life insurance. The funeral took place Monday afternoon at 1 o’clock at the residence, conducted by Rev. Oliver Abbett, of Indianapolis, assisted by Dr. Stott. Burial at Greenlawn.
