Mr. Abbott died Friday, Aug. 18, 2006, at his home. He was born Sept. 9, 1919, south of Ada to Jourdan and Zona Smith Abbott.
He attended school at Pecan Grove and served in the U.S. Army during world War II, was a rancher and dairyman, worked on the construction of the Cement Plant, and later was employed by Hisle Brothers as an implement mechanic. He was a member of First Baptist Church.
Survivors include three daughters, Susan Russell, Rhonda Sellers and Cheryl DiMambro, all of Ada; one son, Mark Abbott, Ada; three sisters, Myrtle Cooper, Ada; Carolyn Aday, Ada; and Mary Camden, Yuma, Ariz.; six grandsons, three granddaughters, and one great grandson.
