Colleen DeLee Hanks passed away at her home surrounded by her loving on Tuesday, April 5, 2016.

She was a lifelong resident of Greensburg and a native of Felixville, LA in East Feliciana Parish.

She was born on May 2, 1931 to Augustus William DeLee, Sr. and Lillie Covington DeLee. She was a long time employee of the US Post Office and retired in 1989. She was a member of Greensburg United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her children, Phillip Daryl Hanks and his wife, Terri, Vera Ellen “Minnie” Easley and her husband, David T. Easley, Jr., Lawrence Ancil “Larry” Hanks and Kenneth Terry “Gus” Hanks and wife, Kay. She leaves eight adoring grandchildren, Spencer Corey Easley and his wife, Angel, Caleb Zane Easley and his fiancé, Kayla, Haley Colleen Conleay and her husband, Josh, Colby Phillips Hanks and his wife, Mirella, Lucas Ancil Hanks and his wife, Alexis, Alannah Adair Newman and her husband, Jason, Hanna Nicole Hanks and her fiancé, Michael Varnado and Zachary Lawrence Hanks and his wife, Camy and her cherished great grandchildren, Taylor, Wyatt, Jocelyn, Lilly, Laura, Layton, Reese and Max along with Phillip Ancil due in May and Mia Renee due in June. She is also survived by four step grandchildren, Marie Huff Thornton, Dana Huff Williams, Lacey Huff Walsh and Marti Huff Wallace and their children, along with one sister, Mavis DeLee Sharp and numerous nieces and nephews. Also she is survived by her godchild, Toni Holland Fitzgerald.

Preceded in death by her loving and life long husband, Phillip Ancil Hanks; her parents, Augustus William and Lillie Covington DeLee; four brothers, Augustus Spencer, Willie L. DeLee, Elvis A. DeLee and Archie L. DeLee and six sisters, Lillie Mae Harvey, Minnie Abrams, Hazel Hurst, Bonnie Eckert, Vera Doughty and Marie Kendrick.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons and honorary pallbearers will be her DeLee and Hanks nephews. Visitation will be at Greensburg United Methodist Church, Greensburg, on Saturday April 9, 2016 from 9 AM until funeral services at 11 AM. Services conducted by Bro. Ken Reed. Interment will be at Greensburg Cemetery, Greensburg.
