Helen Tereau was born on June 26, 1913 in Ebro, Minnesota to parents Benjamin and Nettie Wilson Tereau. She attended school in the Ebro School District. Because of hard times, she was sent to live with Herman Melby and his wife Sena, who farmed south of Bagley, Minnesota. She attended school at Woodside, District #17....a rural school nearby. She married Jean Vesey and they had one daughter, Betty Vesey. Helen spent the last few years of her life in Minneapolis, Minnesota where she died on February 8, 1958 after a lingering bout with cancer. She was predeceased by her parents, and her foster parents. She left to mourn; Daughter Betty Vesey, 1/2 brother and 1/2 sister, Norman Rusten and Myrtle Rusten Portz, sisters; Florence Tereau Aamold, Bernice Tereau Netland, Edna Tereau, Margaret Tereau Netland,Lorraine Tereau Fittje, and brother Joseph Tereau, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was a beautiful person who had a zest for living and an enjoyment of life.
