Last rites were held Tuesday at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Bagley for Mrs. Nettie Johanna Tereau, who passed away Friday, August 10th, after a long illness. Rev. Sommars officiated and the Cease Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. Pallbearers were Ray Colligan, Selmer Larson, Herman Melby, Henry Murray, Clyde Johnson and George Nelson. Interment was made in the Bagley Cemetery.
Mrs. Tereau died at the Clearwater Hospital at 1:40 p.m. after being in ill health for the past six years. Cause of death was cancer of the stomach.
Mrs. Nettie Johanna Wilson Tereau was born June 23, 1887 at Joice, Iowa, where she resided until 1902 when she moved with her parents to Erskine. She attended school at Joice, Iowa, and high school at Fertile, Minnesota.
On November 11, 1912, she was married to Benjamin Tereau. They lived at Erskine until 1918 when they moved to Ebro, Minnesota , where she and her husband raised their family of nine children. After Benjamin's death in 1931, Nettie continued to live in Ebro until her demise. While living at Ebro she was employed as depot agent for Great Northern Railroad for six years.
She was a member of the Lutheran church, being baptized at Joice, Iowa, and confirmed at the Erskine Lutheran Church. She enjoyed quilting and crocheting.
Survivors include seven daughters and two sons. They are: Mrs. Matt (Myrtle) Portz, McIntosh; Mrs. Woodrow (Helen) Portz, Minneapolis; Mrs. L. (Florence) Aamold, Bagley; Mrs. Theodore (Bernice) Netland, Yakima, Washington; Edna of Faribault, Minnesota; Mrs. Norman (Margaret) Netland, Bagley; Lorraine, Seattle, Washington; Joseph of Beltrami, Minnesota; and Norman at home. Her aged mother, who lived at Maple Bay, Minnesota, and one sister, Mrs. Ole [Louise] Tolleferud of Seattle, Washington and four brothers, Lauritz Wilson of Erskine, Joseph Wilson of Maple Bay, Aldar Wilson of Chinno, California, and Melvin Wilson of Mason City, Iowa also survive as do nine grandchildren
