Fannie Pindell, daughter of Ethen Allen and Beersheba Pindell, was born August 28, 1848, in Brown county, Ohio.

When she was twenty years of age she came with her parents from Ohio to Madison county, Iowa.

On January 13, 1977, she was united in marriage to John Abbott. Three years ago they celebrated their golden wedding anniversary; but now that earthly tie is broken, only to be united in Heaven. After their marriage they lived on a farm north of Macksburg, but later moved to their home in Macksburg, where they lived for thirty-five years. In January, 1930, when her health became impaired, they went to the home of her brother, in Afton, where she was until her death.

Mrs. Abbott first joined the Methodist church at Pleasant View. Later, when they left the farm, she united with the Macksburg Methodist church, where she was an interested and faithful member.
