Hettie Abbott, 98, of Rensselaer, IN passed away Saturday, August 18, 2018 at 4:45 pm in Franciscan Health East, Lafayette, IN. She was born January 2, 1920 in Manito, Illinois to the late Perry & Aggie Cox Bailey. She was a graduate of Morocco High School, Morocco, IN class of 1938. Enjoyed coin collecting, oil painting and traveling. Hettie was Vice Chairman of Newton County Democratic Party and worked for Lake Township Indiana as Justice of the Peace, for 13 years. She was a member of the Lake Village Presbyterian Church , American Legion Auxiliary, 8/40, Granger and Moose Lodge.

Hettie is survived by one daughter, Lois Johnson, Rensselaer, In and two sons Douglas Hiestand, Skykomish, WA, and Charles Abbott, Earl Park, IN. Grandmother of ll and Great Grandmother of several. Preceded in death by one son, Bernard Hiestand and 5 Brothers and 5 Sisters.

No visitation but a graveside service, September 15, 2018 at ll:00 am

(CDT) at the Lake Village Cemetery, Lake Village, IN. Memorials may be given in her name to the American Legion, or charity of donors choice.
