Caroline Reid Aikele, 80, passed away August 15, 2018 at Davis County Hospital in Layton, Utah.

She was born October 19, 1937 in Firth, Idaho to Eldro and Geraldine (Larsen) Reid. Caroline was raised and received her education in Firth, graduating from Firth High School. Upon graduating she began working at the local feed store, where she worked at the time she met her husband Don Andreas Aikele. Don and Caroline met on a blind date and it was love at first sight. They were married December 1957 in Hollywood, California. They returned to the Lost River Valley where they began their lifelong career of farming and ranching.

Caroline enjoyed gardening, sewing and drawing. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints where she served in many callings. Her favorite calling was ward librarian which she served at for over 20 years.

Caroline spent the last years of her life in Kaysville, Utah by her daughter Valerie.

Surviving are her four daughters Gina, Theresa, Donna and Valerie; a daughter-in-law, Susan; a twin sister, Kathryn; a brother-in-law Juel; 12 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a brother in infancy, and her son Brett Aikele.

Funeral services will be held Friday, August 24, 2018 at 11:00 am at the Moore LDS Stake Center with Bishop Craig Stewart conducting. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in the Lost River Cemetery under the direction of the Anderson Family Funeral Home of Arco, Idaho.
