Jefferson City News-Tribune (MO) - Thursday, February 3, 2005:

Marjorie A. Eggen, 75, of Jefferson City, died Wednesday, February 2, 2005, at the Capital Region Medical Center. She was born November 1, 1929, in Jefferson City, a daughter of the late Joseph G. and Mary (Frank) Abel. She was a 1947 graduate of St. Peter's High School. On December 27, 1952, she was married in Jefferson City, to William J. "Bill" Eggen, who survives at the home.

She worked as a Claims Examiner for the State of Missouri Division of Employment Security. She also worked with her husband at Bowl-A-Wile Lanes in Jefferson City. She was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church. Marjorie loved to play golf and was a charter member of Meadow Lake Acres Country Club. She also loved to bowl and was a member of several different bowling leagues over the years.

She is also survived by a brother, Fred Abel (wife Ruby) of Wichita, Kansas; three sisters, Lucille Smith (husband Victor); Rosemary Henderson and Betty Pratt all of Jefferson City; two brothers-in-law, Harold Eggen of Jefferson City and Ralph Eggen of Denver, Colorado; three sisters-in-law, Georgia Abel of Pasadena, Texas; Marie Kahl of Farmington, Michigan and Millie Dampf (husband Don) of Houston, Texas and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, William J. Abel.

Friends will be received from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. Friday at the Houser-Millard Funeral Directors Jefferson City Chapel, with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m.Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, February 5, 2005, at the St. Peter Catholic Church, with Fr. James M. Smith officiating.

Expressions of sympathy may be made to the St. Peter Catholic Church Building Fund. Arrangements are under the direction of the HOUSERMILLARD Funeral Directors Jefferson City Chapel, 2613 West Main Street; 636-3838.
