Elizabeth Ann “Betty” Pratt, 90, of Jefferson City, died at her home surrounded by her family on Tuesday, May 15, 2018, after a short illness.

Betty was born August 3, 1927, in Jefferson City, the daughter of the late Joseph Gerhard and Mary Bernadine (Frank) Abel.

Betty was a graduate of St. Peter's High School. She was a lifelong member of Immaculate Conception Church in Jefferson City and member of the Immaculata Club.

After raising her family she worked for the Missouri State Senate for 25 years until her retirement. She enjoyed playing bridge, reading, and knitting. She volunteered at the Samaritan Center until shortly before her illness.

She is survived by five children: David Pratt (Louise Saucier) of Mary’s Home, Missouri; Douglas Pratt (Ele Ibarra-Pratt) of Kensington, Maryland; William Pratt (Karen King) of Columbia, Missouri; Dennis Pratt (Cindy) of Rowlett, Texas; and Amy Bernskoetter (Ron) of Jefferson City. She is also survived by 17 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. Through the years she also supported many children through international sponsorship programs.

She was preceded in death by her parents; five siblings, Lucille Smith, William Abel, Fred Abel, Rosemary Henderson, and Marjorie Eggen; and her daughter, Frances Rose Goodlin.

Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Friday, May 18, 2018, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home with a prayer service at 5 p.m.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Saturday, May 19, 2018, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with the Rev. Cesar Anicama officiating.

Entombment will be in Resurrection Mausoleum.

In lieu of flowers the family suggest donations to the Samaritan Center, 1310 East McCarty Street, Jefferson City, MO 65101.
