Mrs. Rosemary F. Henderson, age 86 years, of Jefferson City, Mo., died Thursday, July 10, 2008, at her home. Rosemary was born March 15, 1922, in Jefferson City, Mo., the daughter of Joseph and Mary Frank Abel, both deceased. She was married on November 9, 1946, in Jefferson City, Mo. to Homer A. Henderson who preceded her in death on June 2, 2001.
A life long resident of the Jefferson City area, she attended Jefferson City High School. A homemaker, Rosemary had been employed with the International Shoe Factory and later with the Missouri Division of Employment Security. Rosemary was a member of St. Peter Church; a member of St. Ann Sodality; and a volunteer with the Samaritan Center. She enjoyed quilting, Bingo and genealogy.
Survivors include: four sons, John Henderson of Jefferson City, Mo., Mike Henderson and Valerie of Jefferson City, Greg Henderson and his wife Jamie of Columbia, Mo., and Joe Henderson and his wife Cindy of Jefferson City; one daughter, Jane Henderson Gregory of Jefferson City; two sisters, Lucille Smith of Jefferson City and Betty Pratt of Jefferson City; one brother, Fred Abel and his wife, Ruby of Wichita, Kansas; and 12 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, James Henderson; one sister, Margie Eggen, and one brother, Bill Abel.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. Monday, July 14, 2008, at St. Peter Church with the Reverend Rob Fields officiating. Interment will be at Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be at Freeman Mortuary from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m. Sunday with a prayer service to be conducted at 6:00 p.m. in the Freeman Chapel. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the Samaritan Center. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Freeman Mortuary. www.freemanmortuary.com
