Anteionette (Annette) Abernathy
Anteionette (Annette) Abernathy, 74, housewife, of Mendenhall died September 5, 2001.
According to family, Mrs. Abernathy enjoyed working in the garden, canning with her sister and visiting with her friends. She was a member of Athens Baptist Church.
Funeral services were conducted September 7 at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Mendenhall. Interment was in Pinola Cemetery.
She is survived by two sons, Dewayne Abernathy of Mendenhall and William F. Braswell of Houston, Tex.; daughters, Brenda Ellzey of Seminary and Nancy Phiffer and Emma Carol Magee, both of Nashville, Tenn.; brothers, Bill Sowell of Mendenhall and Lafette Sowell of California; sisters, Verneta Smith of Magee, Myrtle Berry of Harrisville, Virginia Wilkes of Nashville, Tenn. and Bobbie Holloway of California; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Dewie Abernathy.
