Jerry, age 81, died at Wellsprings Care Center in Wesmtoreland. He was the son of Herbert F. and Adelina (Honig) Abitz and was born with Cerebral Palsy (CP). He graduated from Wheaton High School in 1958.
He never allowed CP to keep him from living a normal life. He was the bookkeeper for the family farm and an active member of the operation, raking hay and driving tractors and raising chickens and selling eggs to the local school and store.
He is survived by his brothers, Lee Abitz and Ron Abitz. He was preceded in death by his parents.
