Georgina was born February 22, 1955, in North Platte, Nebraska, to Jesus and Mary (Rodriguez) Abasolo. She was reared and educated in Wellington, graduating in 1973. She later attended Wichita State University and the Bryan Institute.
Georgina worked as an EMT and later as a registered nurse. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Arkansas City.
Survivors include her daughters Amy Cox and Michaelene Contreras; sisters Cecelia Newman, Catherine Richardson, Eloisa Bennett, Connie Dee Sayler, and Amelia Austin; brothers Andy Abasolo, Greg Abasolo; three grandchildren Anthony and Austin Contreras and Josiah Cox.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a son Matthew Levi Louis Thompson, brother John Jay Abasolo, sister Carmen Abasolo-Harshfield; nephew Adam Bennett, and a niece Juanita Sayler.
A memorial has been established with the American Cancer Society. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
