Madbury – George T. "Buck" Abbott, 90, of Huckins Rd. died Saturday April 21, 2007 at the Wentworth-Douglass Hospital in Dover.

Born in Dover on August 14, 1916, the son of Albert G. and Florida (Gingras) Abbott and has lived in this area all of his lifetime. He was a graduate of Dover Schools.

Prior to his retirement he was employed by United Tanners as an Expeditor. He had also worked at the Star Markets in Dover & Rochester.

He was an avid Boston Red Sox fan. Buck enjoyed helping folks with his talent for small engine repair. He truly loved his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Buck was a communicant of St. Joseph Church in Dover.

He is survived by two sons Richard T. Abbott and his wife Solange of Rollinsford and Donald E. Abbott and his wife Janet of West Lebanon, M, two daughters; Ruthann Alty and her husband Joseph E. of Dover and Louise M. Abbott of Madbury four grandchildren Joseph Alty and his wife Kimberly, Lisa Gilbert and her husband Eric, Diane Burke and her husband William and Kevin Abbott and his wife Cara also seven great-grandchildren; Shannon Alty, Kyle Gilbert, Kevin Gilbert, Lauren Gilbert, Calvin Burke, Aidan Burke and Lance Abbott, a brother Arthur Abbott of Dover and two sisters, Anna Herron of Rochester and Theresa Wallace of Strafford, VA, Several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews also survive him.

His wife of 60-years Ruth P (Ross) Abbott died September 2, 2006. He was also predeceased his son, Thomas E. Abbott, and three brothers Edward Abbott, Leo Abbott and Charles Abbott, and two sisters Clara Hatch and Elsie Pratt.

Relatives and friends are invited to call Monday April 23rd from 7-9pm at the Tasker Funeral Home, 621 Central Ave., Dover. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 10:00am in St. Joseph Church; 150 Central Ave. Dover Burial will follow in St. Mary New Cemetery
