Charles A. Abbott, 88, of 74 Tradewind Lane died Sunday April 15, 2007 at the Wentworth-Douglass Hospital.

Born in Dover on May 29, 1918 the son of Albert G. and Florida (Gingras) Abbott. He was a graduate of Dover High School and lived in Dover for most of his life prior to moving to Rochester.

He was a World War II Veteran having served with the U.S. Navy Sea Bee's.

He was a 25-year employee of the H. P. Hood Milk Co. prior to his retirement and later worked at the Oyster River High School.

Charles was a communicant of St. Joseph Church in Dover where he served as an usher.

He is survived by two brothers George "Buck" Abbott of Madbury, Arthur Abbott of Dover, two sisters Anna Herron of Rochester, Theresa Wallace of Strafford, VA, a son-in-law Henry St. Pierre of Newport News, VA, several step-children, a special friend Georgianna Berry and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his wife Alice (Corson) Abbott who died in 1977, his daughter Donna St. Pierre who died in 1987 and two brothers Edward Abbott & Leo Abbott and two sisters Clara Hatch and Elsie Pratt.

Relatives and friends are invited to call Wednesday from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. at the Tasker Funeral Home, 621 Central Ave., Dover. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph church, 150 Central Ave., Dover. Burial will follow in St. Mary New Cemetery, Dover.
