Sharron Painting Flowers

Sharron Painting Flowers of Star, MS went home to be with her Savior on Saturday, February 11, 2023, at the age of 79 years young. Sharron was born in McComb, MS on November 21, 1943, to John W. Painting and Flora Allen Painting. She married George W. Flowers Jr. on April 14, 1963. In their 60 years of marriage, they raised two sons, and she became a proud "Granny" of two granddaughters and 4 great grandchildren. She loved to share vacations and fun experiences with the family- from shopping to riding roller coasters to cruising the Caribbean. She will always be remembered as our loving wife, mother, mother-in-law, and Granny.
Sharron worked for the Mississippi Highway Patrol for 25 years and retired in 2003. She was an active member of Star Baptist Church and served in several areas of ministry such as the church library and the committee for the Joy Group. She loved being with her Joy Group friends especially on Game Night.
Preceding her in death are her father, John W. Painting; mother, Flora Allen Painting; sister, Brenda Painting Abbot.
She is survived by her loving husband, George W. Flowers Jr.; sister, Sue Painting Hansen (Jim) of Marvin, NC; son, Jeff Flowers (Kathy) of Flora, MS; son, Bruce Flowers of Canton, MS and her two granddaughters, Katie Evans (Lee); Anna Anderson (Keith) and 4 great grandchildren, Kathleen, Grafton, Molly, and Beau.
The family will receive friends for visitation from 9:00 a.m.- 10:30 a.m. followed by the funeral service at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, February 18, 2023, at Star Baptist Church in Star, MS. Burial will follow at Star Cemetery.
