OLIVE ABRAHAMS DIES

Mrs. Olive Abrahams, 77, former Belleville resident died April 17, 1973 at the Sunset Home, in Concordia.

Services will be held at the First United Methodist church (sic) in Belleville, Thursday, April 19th at 2:00 p.m. Interment will be made in Rose Hill cemetary (sic) at Wayne. Bachelor-Faulkner-Dart are in charge of the services.

Olive Leona Englund was born September 10, 1895 in Las Animas, Colo., the daughter of Henry and Anna Albertina Englund. She attended the Wayne schools and was graduated from Clay Center high school in 1914.

She was a member of the First United Methodist church (sic) of Belleville. She was the first president of Woman's Society of Christian Service of the Wayne Methodist church (sic) which was organized in 1940. She was instrumental in organizing NARCE Chapter.

In May, 1916 she was united in marriage to Emil Nelson To this union was born one daughter. Mr. Nelson died July 26, 1918.

On June 5, 1926 she married Olof M. Abrahams. To this union two children were born - one died in infancy.

Mr. Abrahams died October 29, 1961.

Most of her life was spent in the Wayne community. She spent her last four years in the Sunset Home in Concordia. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Clarence and Ernest Englund.

She is survived by two daughters, Emily Wilcox, Concordia, and Carolyn Ott, Merritt Island, Fla., four sons, Clare Abrahams, Colorado Springs, Colo.; W. Dean Abrahams, Caldwell, Idaho; Merrill Abrahams, Ontario, Ore. and Maynard Abrahams, Taft, Tex., two sisters, Frances Holmberg, Belleville and Anna Downey, Kansas City, two brothers, Lester Englund, Richmond, Calif. and Donald Broden, Kansas City, twelve grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Thursday, April 19, 1973, at 2:00 p.m. at the First United Methodist church (sic) of Belleville, conducted by the Reverends Harry Blackburn and Harlan Smith. Interment was made in Rose Hill.
