An Elegant Country Wedding Near Trevillians Station
Trevellians, VA, Nov 21 The home of Mrs W C Elam, near Travillinas, Va, was the scene of a very pretty marriage at 3:30 oclock last Wednesday afternoon, when Miss Gertrude, daughter of the late Colonel W C Elam, became the bride of Mr A Grank Ogg, of Richmond.
The ceremony was performed by the Rev Dr J Wiley Bledsoe, of the Methodist Episcopal Church, in a most impressive manner, only a few near relatives being present.
The bridal party entered the beautifully decorated parlor to the sweet strains of Mendelssohns wedding march in the following order: First came her bridesmaid, Miss Annye Walsh, of Richmond, in white organdy, with satin ribbons, carrying carnations, with Mr C C Carter, of Charlottesville; then came the groom, attended by his best man, Mr W M Ogg, of Richmond, brother of the groom, followed by the maid of honor, Miss Lottie Elam, sister of the bride, who entered alone, dressed in white organdy over taffeta, carrying pink carnations.
Next the bride, wearing a handsome going-away gown of blue cloth, with hat and gloves to match, entered leaning on the arm of her brother Mr T P Elam, of Richmond, and carrying a lovely bouquet of Brides roses and maidenhair ferns.
The groom and his attendants wore the conventional black.At the conclusion of the ceremony the bridal party repaired to the dining room, where an elegant dinner was served.
Later the happy couple left for Richmond, their future home.
There was a profusion of bridal presents, both useful and handsome, among them being much cut glass and silver.
The guests from a distance were Mrs A J Ogg, of Raton, New Mexico; Mr J J Ogg, of Wynne, Ark; Mr M A Ogg, of Little Rock, Ark; Mr John Sewell, of Olive Hill, Ky; Mrs W J Cook of Danville, Va; Charles P Cowherd, of Grodonsville, Va; Mr and Mrs Newton Coyner and daughter of Mineral, Va, and Mr C C Pate, of Richmond, Va.
