Frederick William Shonfeldt was born in Kritzow-bel-Wisman, Mechlenberg, Slhweria, North Germany July 5th 1867. He was baptized and later confirmed in the Lutheran Cathedral at Wisman in 1867.

He came to America with his parents in 1884 settling in Tripoll, Iowa where in 1892, he was married to Minnie Westpfahl. To this union were born ten children. Two of whom Olinda and Anna Peters preceded him in death.

The family moved from Iowa to Kansas City, Missouri, where they resided for eighteen months. In the spring of 1915 they moved to the D. F. Plazzek farm where Mrs. Schonfeldt died October 3, 1915.

After living on the farm with the children for three years, Mr. Scholfeldt moved to Valley Falls where he worked in the condensary from April 1919 until shortly before his death.

He was married on August 10, 1920, to Anna Hermann. To this union was born one child, Leroy. She died 14 March 1922.
