The funeral for Estelle Haynes Abernathy, 75, of Athens will be 2 p.m. Friday at McConnell Memorial Chapel with Jason Moore officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery.
Visitation will be 6-9 tonight at the funeral home.
Mrs. Abernathy died Wednesday, May 7, 2003, at Athens Convalescent Center.
She was born May 14, 1927, in Savannah, Tenn., to Thomas Wiley Lee Haynes and Mable Howard Haynes. She was a homemaker and attended Fairview Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George N. Abernathy.
Survivors, all of Athens, include one daughter, Barbara Baugher; three brothers, Raymond Haynes, Lee Haynes Jr. and Teddy Haynes; two sisters, Linda Richardson and Cathy Putman; three grandchildren, Terri Hill, Michelle Moore and Matthew Baugher; three great-grandchildren, Tori Moore, Elijah Moore and Brady Hill; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Greg Haynes, Jeff Haynes, Doug Haynes, Heath Putman, Steven Haynes and Keith Kennedy.
