Selma Gyberg, 87, Luverne, Hills, formerly of Beaver Creek, died Thursday, April 26, 2001, at Luverne Hospice Cottage in Luverne. Services were Monday, April 30, In Grace Lutheran Church, Luverne. The Rev. Dell B. Sanderson officiated. Burial was in Maplewood Cemetery, Luverne. Selma Aanenson was born to Theodore and Adriana "Anna" Louise (Moi) Aanenson on Dec. 20, 1913, in Luverne. She attended District #4 country school.

She married Sigmund Gyberg on March 28, 1936, in Luverne. Following their marriage they lived on Warren street in Luverne. In 1946 they farmed northeast of Luverne and in they moved to Beaver Creek. Mr. Gyberg died on Sept. 5, 1988. She continued living in her home until March 2001 when she entered Tuff Memorial Home in Hills.

Mrs. Gyberg was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Luverne where she was active in the Ruth Circle. She enjoyed cooking, baking and was the best lefse maker in the world.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Arlin and Barbara Gyberg, Brooklyn Center and Curt and Diane Gyberg, Sioux Falls, SD.; one grandchild, Gary; two stepgrandchildren; five stepgreat-grandchildren; one sister Luella Braa, Luverne, one brother, Ted Aanenson, Sioux Falls, and many nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Gyberg was preceded in death by her husband, seven brothers and three sisters.
