Services for Marion M. "Pete" Milgrove, 65, Red Oak, were Saturday, December 10, at Nelson-Boylan Funeral Chapel i Red Oak and burial was in Evergreen Cemetery, Red Oak. Mr. Milgrove died Wednesday, December 7, 1994 at Red Oak Good Samaritan Center, following an extended illness with ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease)
He was born April 21,1929, in Montgomery County, near Stennett to Novie and Bonnie Buffon Milgrove. He was a Veteran of the Korean conflict, serving in the U.S. Army from 1950-1953 and married Betty Sowers on July 2, 1954. He was a long haul truck driver many years, and retired from Universal Cooperative Company on May 1, 1991. He was a member of the Red Oak Eagles Lodge Aerie #2715 and a charter member of the Red Oak Saddle Club. Memorials are suggested to Red Oak Good Samaritan Center.
Survivors include his wife; one son, Mike Milgrove and his wife, Dawn, of Red Oak; one daughter, Marsha Flemming and her husband, Morris of Wales; one step daughter, Linda Long and her husband, Tom of Red Oak; four grandchildren; five great grandchildren; his mother, Bonnie Milgrive of Red Oak; brother and sister, Wesley and Shirleen Milgrove of Arizona City, Arizona; Bill and Chris Milgrove, Glendon and Elnora Lukehart, and Fern and Juno Jones, all of Red Oak, Kenneth and Opal Milgrove of Dallas, Texas, and Darlene Abbott of Branson, Missouri.
