Bonnie Milgrove, age 97, of Red Oak, Iowa passed away Sunday, October 6, 2002 at the Red Oak Rehab and Care Center after an extended illness. Bonnie Lucile Milgrove was born October 7, 1904 in Montgomery County, Iowa the daughter of William and Edith (Hurst) Buffon. She graduated from the Stennett High School and was united in marriage to Novie Pete Milgrove on July 3, 1921 in Red Oak, Iowa. They lived in the Stennett area for many years and moved into Red Oak in 1941. Bonnie worked for the Hotel Johnson for twenty years and other area restaurants for many years. Most recently Bonnie was a resident of the Red Oak Rehab and Care Center.
She was preceded in death by her parents: husband: Novie Pete Milgrove; 4 sons: Lawrence, Marion Pete, Bill, and Wesley Milgrove; 2 daughters: Gladys Milgrove; and Fern Jones; and 2 sons-in-law: Doug Abbott and Glendon Lukehart.
Survivors include her 2 daughters: Elnora Lukehart of Red Oak, Iowa; and Darlene Abbott of Branson, Missouri; son: Kenneth Milgrove and his wife Opal of Raymore, Missouri; 22 grandchildren; many great grandchildren; sister: Helen Singleterry of Oregon City, Oregon; and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held 2 PM Wednesday, October 9, 2002 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Chris Burgett officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery. There will be open visitation at Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel.
