Services for 87 year old Mike Bennett of Alfalfa were Tuesday afternoon, February 18, at Alfalfa Baptist Church with Rev. David Blalock officiating. Burial was in the Alfalfa Cemetery under the direction of Pitcher-Hackney Funeral Home.
Mike was born March 16, 1915 in Alfalfa to Walter and Laura Mitchell Bennett. Mike married Althea Giles on November 28,1935 in Cowden, and they lived and farmed in the Alfalfa community. Mike was a member of the Alfalfa Baptist Church.
Mike passed away Thursday, February 13, 2003 at Corn Heritage Village. He was preceded by one grandson; his son-in-law; five sisters; and his parents.
Survivors include his wife, Althea of the home; two sons and their wives, Bobby Lee and Jo Nell Bennett and Coy Dean and Kay Bennett of Blanchard; one daughter, Evelyn Shaw of Carnegie; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren; one sister, Ruby Jech of Crescent; other relatives and many friends.
