MANCHESTER
Mrs. N. Albert (MArtha) Wangen, 83, a resident of Manchester for 60 years, died at 6 a.m. today in Naeve Hospital following a stroke three days ago.
A native of Ringebo, Gulbrandalen, Norway, she was born May 1,12881 to the late Nels and Mathias Nelson. She came to the United States in 1901 and located in Freeborn County.
She was married to N. Albert Wangen in 1905. He died May 22, 1945.
Mrs. Wangen was a member of West Freeborn Lutheran Church, its Mission Circle and Ladies Aid Society.
Immediate survivors are seven sons; Nels A., Arnold M. and Harold C. all of Albert Lea; Russell A. and Floyd K. both of Manchester, Glen W. of Freeborn and Elvin M. of Denver, Colorado.
Four daughters, Mrs. Alfred (Marie) Kaufman and Mrs. Arthur (Helen) Gunderson both of Albert Lea; Mrs. Henry(Dora) Melander of Alden, and Mrs. Chester (Florence) Hanson of Spring Grove.
a sister, Mrs. John Hovland of Albert Lea; two brothers, Anton Nelson of Tensed, Idaho and Torvald Nelson of Stockton, Calif.
16 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren also survive.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in West Freeborn Church. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
