N. Albert Wangen, 71, of Manchester died Tuesday afternoon at the University Hospital where he had been confined for the past two and one half months.
He had undergone two operations having had three tumors removed. Apparently both operations had proved successful and he was recovering satisfactorily until Tuesday when he suffered a heart attack and passed away suddenly at 2:30 p.m.
In May 1904 he was married to Miss Martha Nelson who with eleven children and nine grandchildren survive.
Mr. Wangen was born Feb. 1, 1876 on a farm west of Manchester and has since resided in the home.
The children are: Nel Of Bancroft, Arnold of Pickerel Lake, S-Sgt. Elvin somewhere in France, Glenn in Freeborn, Mrs. Alfred(Marie) Kaufman of Conger, Mrs. Arthur(Helen)Gunderson of Bancroft, Mrs.Henry (Dora) Melander of Alden, Florence at home, Pvt. Russell of Camp Robinson of Arkansas, Pvt. Harold some where in France and Floyd at home.
Three brothers and three sisters also survive. They are Willie N. Wangen, Mrs. Carl MAdson of Albert Lea, Mrs. Anton Erlandson, Oscar Wangen, Mrs. A.J. Erickson of Manchester and Peter of Minneapolis. Two brothers and sister preceded him in death; J.E.Wangen,Oldus and Martha (Mrs.Hans Ashleson).
Funeral arrangements will be announced later pending word from son, Russell at Camp Robinson, Arkansas.
