Born at Lehigh, OK. on April 1, 1929, he was the son of Amos E. Ables and Desi A. Rhodes Ables. He was a veteran of the Korean War and a member of the American Legion. He was married to Jo Ann Kuykendall in Durant on January 14, 1952. Preceding him in death were his parents, Amos and Desi Ables. Survivors include his wife, Jo Ann Ables; two sons, James H. Ables and Bobby Joe Ables; one daughter, Connie Holden; three brothers, Arnold Ables, Bob Ables and A. E. Ables; two sisters, Mary Greathouse and Jo Ables; one granddaughter, Jennifer Holden; many nieces and nephews, and a host of friends.
